Battery Park City - Within walking distance of most of lower Manhattan including TriBeCa, FiDi, and the South Street Seaport, Battery Park City has been called the suburb of Manhattan due to its small town feel. Battery Park City is an old neighborhood that has overcome a lot but has bounced back stronger than ever. Having been established on the landfill dug from the original building of the World Trade Center, over the past 30 years Battery Park City has continued into an ever-developing neighborhood. Since the opening of Brookfield Place, Westfield, and the new World Trade Buildings, the neighborhood is bubbling with places to go and things to see. It is both scenic and urban but due to its position on the Hudson River, it has views and a summer breeze that cannot be easily rivaled by other Manhattan neighborhoods.
